Do Atheist Ever get Possessed?

Saw this this morning on Drudge and it occurred to me, when is the last time you heard of an avowed atheist being possessed? Seems like it happens more to religious people and people who believe in the occult than those who don't think there is a god. And I think that being an atheist would also mean you don't believe in any sort of magic so I don't think that Wiccans can be called atheists. Sure atheists may get depressed from time to time about there being no afterlife but we don't get processed. We may wander in search of a greater meaning for our lives but we don't get possessed. We might have a moment of terror in the last seconds of our lives worrying that we were wrong but still we don't get possessed.

You have absolutely no evidence about what proportion of the exorcised were non-believers when possessed & what proportion were believers. No such public statistics exist but the chief Vatican exorcist Gabriele Amorth declares that the spread of unbelief in Italy and rejection of religious practice has led to a vast increase in the number of possessions that has made necessary a raising of the number of exorcists from 12 to 200 to meet the crisis. Also many atheists may prefer to spend years in mental homes rather than think they could be possessed & ask the Church for help.

People that think they are possessed are affected by mental illness and should be treated accordingly. The belief there is a demon possessing someone only allows for the problem to spiral out of control. It is a very very dangerous thing to believe in! Atheists don't get possessed. In fact no one does.
